What is cursed text (Zalgo)?
Cursed text — often called "Zalgo text" — is made by stacking extra Unicode marks above, through, and below each letter. Normally those marks are used for accents (like the tilde in "ñ"), but piling on many of them at once creates that glitchy, creepy, "corrupted" look.
Because it's randomly generated, the exact marks change a little every time you type — that's normal and matches how other cursed text tools behave.
Where it's used
- Horror-themed usernames and Discord messages
- Creepypasta and internet horror content
- Memes and jokes that want a "broken" aesthetic
